About
Welcome to Madame Waffle, a delightful culinary gem nestled in the heart of Lincoln at 285 High St, Lincoln LN2 1AL, United Kingdom. Here, the humble waffle takes center stage, showcasing its versatility and charm in an inviting atmosphere that has quickly become the go-to brunch spot for locals and travelers alike.
Madame Waffle offers a rich and diverse menu that caters to all palates. Start your day with a savory Madame Waffle breakfast, featuring smoked streaky bacon, Lincolnshire sausage, Heinz baked beans, mushrooms, grilled vine tomatoes, and a free-range fried egg, all perfectly paired with a golden waffle or toast, depending on your preference. For our vegetarian friends, the Vegetarian Breakfast provides an equally hearty option, swapping in halloumi for a satisfying twist.
But that’s not all. Indulge your sweet tooth with creations like the Banoffle, which tops a warm waffle with sliced banana, luscious whipped cream, and a drizzle of toffee sauce. Or try the Teacake Waffle, a unique blend of flavors featuring sultanas and cinnamon icing sugar, complemented by jam and fresh whipped cream. Their commitment to variety is also evident in vegan offerings, such as the Vegan Breakfast and Patatas Bravas, ensuring everyone can enjoy a flavorful meal.
The ambiance at Madame Waffle is as inviting as the food. Tucked away in a cozy underground den, the atmosphere combines comfortable seating with a warm and friendly vibe. Customers have praised the welcoming staff and the unique experience of dining here. Louis Minson, a regular, shares, "Amazing food... great people," and Ola Janek adds, "A place worth recommending!"
However, while many find the atmosphere charming, some guests have suggested that it can feel a bit snug. Andrzej Papiewski humorously notes that the warmth might cater more to a younger crowd. Regardless, the delicious offerings seem to outweigh any minor concerns about space.
In conclusion, Madame Waffle is a lovely haven for breakfast and brunch enthusiasts. Whether you crave something savory or sweet, there’s a waffle waiting to delight your taste buds. With a menu full of innovative dishes and a commitment to quality, it’s no wonder this spot has captured the hearts of many. It’s time to treat yourself to a waffle adventure you won’t soon forget.
“ This place is now our regular brunch spot when we travel to Lincoln to take our daughter back to Uni. Amazing food..great people. ”
“ Awesome waffles with really welcoming and friendly staff ”
“ Mixed feelings in this one, while some may find it cozy, we didn't. It's a bit claustrophobic and I am assuming rather for the youngsters than us old farts ha ha ha. On the plate was a dish called Shashuka, but I devoured it as it was so delicious before taking the photo To the owner, we were told to follow the staff, but on another visit we will ask for a seat at the ground level, thanks. ”
“ Really nice place! The food was good, it was interesting to combine the waffle with other products, not only sweet ones. But what surprised me the most was the taste and aroma of the coffee, it really was delicious! ;) A place worth recommending! ;) ”
“ This is a little gem! Friendly staff, the cutest little underground den to sit in (comfy seats) and amazing selection of waffles making it hard to choose what to eat. I had the Pricilla in the end, a pecan-filled waffle with peanut butter, banana and bacon (couldn’t decide between sweet or savoury and this ticked both boxes) husband had Croque Madame- egg, bacon, hollandaise sauce and mustard, daughter had plain waffle with chocolate sauce and added chocolate. Delicious. Would thoroughly recommend ”
“ Very atmospheric place. And what a choice of waffles! I was first time at this place and will visit again next time I am in Lincoln. Very fast service. Great staff. ”
“ Food was excellent - had the English breakfast which came with a waffle instead of toast, but you can ask for toast instead if you prefer. The coffee was also great, probably being some of the best I've had in Lincoln. The cellar seating is a little bit claustrophobic and the tables are quite close together so feels a bit intimate - not sure I would sit there again. ”
“ Great selection of reasonably priced sweet and savoury Belgian waffles. We opted for sweet and had the cherry bakewell and spiced crumble. Both were utterly delicious. Well priced drinks menu too, we enjoyed the ginger kombucha. Look forward to going back again. ”
